The Victorian Age is named after the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). English writing from this era reflects the major transformation in most aspects of English life. Several movements and reforms took place during the Victorian Age. It was also called ‘The Age of Reform’ Dramatic Monologue (एकालाप, स्वागत-कथन), Periodicals (पात्र-पत्रिकाओं) and Children’s Literature were emerged (उभरे) as a major poetic form of the age. It was also called the Age of Democracy.

It was a group of English painters, poets, and art critics. It was founded in 1848, by 7 members-
